for the yarn lovers

This wonderful wool is from the New Zealand Polwarth sheep, an old sheep breed that originally comes from Australia and was then imported to New Zealand in the 1930's. It's a mixed breed of 75% Merino and 25% Lincoln which produces fibre similar to Merino but with more sheen. Its sleek, springy and lustrous and worsted spun from long staple fibres to produce a yarn that is silky, smooth and strong.

Polwarth has good stitch definition and is ideal for socks, gloves, jumpers and items that require some strength.

Our Merino wool is extra fine (19.5 micron); It feels soft and gentle against the skin but is also strong and durable for good wearing properties. It has natural elasticity which allows garments to stretch and then return to their original shape. Merino is highly breathable, wicking away moisture from the body, helping you stay warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather as well as being naturally antimicrobial.

Merino yarns are worsted spun from extra long staple fibres to produce a yarn that is fine and strong with a silky feel and is ideal for garments and accessories alike!
